Combining more traditional human-oriented curation with some automagical procedures might give researchers access to both sides without spending that much effort for maintaining even simpler workflows; in other words it allows you get best parts from each method but less at time when your piece nothing is wrong yet if you wish should simply be careful what will occur (as happened me).

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱-𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲𝘀: Mixed-methods research is defined by the collection and analysis of both qualitative (usually verbal) and quantitative (usually numerical) data. Utilizing both methods enhances the appropriateness  associated with data collection and data analysis, and enables even deeper meaning to be derived from the results.

𝗦𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻:

𝗦𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹: Data is gathered and analyzed in stages, with one data type impacting the next. Data is collected and analyzed in phases, with one form of data influencing the next.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁: Qualitative and quantitative data are collected concurrently then compared or combined to see the results.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: Quantitative methods provide statistical and measurable evidence, while qualitative methods explore deeper insights into behaviors, experiences, or perceptions.

𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘆: By combining both types of data, researchers can cross-verify findings, leading to greater validity and reliability.

𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Mixed-method approaches can be adjusted based on the nature of the research, making it versatile for complex social or behavioral studies.

𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀:

☑ Allows triangulation of results, enhancing the credibility of the findings.

☑ Explores both breadth and depth in data collection and analysis.

𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀:

☑ Time-consuming and complex to design and implement.

☑ Requires expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods.

𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱-𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴: The basic skill that allows you to move away from a superficial to a deep understanding of a subject, either through revealing its essence or its real-life Situation. This approach allows researchers to gain both breadth and depth of understanding regarding a specific concept or issue.

𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: The greatest advantage of this method regarding data collection is that the researcher can select the most appropriate data collection method depending on the research question, be it quantitative or qualitative, no matter what type of data it is. Researchers can choose the most appropriate data collection methods based on the specific research question, whether qualitative, quantitative, or a mix of both.

𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘆: Application of multiple data sources thorough data collection can boost the overall validity of the findings of the research study as it provides for triangulation of data. The combination of different data types can improve the overall validity of the research findings, as it allows for triangulation of data.

𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱-𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵

While mixed-methods research offers numerous advantages, it also presents challenges:

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲: Mixed-methods research can be resource-intensive given that it may require more time as well as both qualitative and quantitative expertise.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: Designing a mixed-methods study requires careful thought about ways in which the various data types will be effectively combined.

𝗧𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱-𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀, 𝗹𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 👩‍🎓

Imagine you're Sherlock Holmes, and you've got not just a magnifying glass but a calculator in one hand and a journal in the other. One side of you is digging deep into feelings and personal stories (that's your qualitative side), while the other is running numbers and crunching data like a finance guru (yep, that’s your quantitative self).

Why settle for one, when you can have both? Qualitative research tells you why people are doing what they’re doing (Think: personal stories, interviews, vibes), while quantitative research answers the how much (Numbers, graphs, pie charts, the stuff that makes people feel productive).

Together? They give you the whole sherbet lemon of insight!

It’s like making a perfect sandwich: without the bread (quantitative data), you’re just holding some mushy ingredients. Without the fillings (qualitative data), well, you’re just chomping on dry bread.

So why is this approach mysterious, you ask? Because no one expects you to be both a therapist and a mathematician. It’s like you’re walking around with a cloak of invisibility, solving mysteries that single-method researchers can only dream of!

In the end, mixed-method research is your Swiss Army knife. Whether you're tackling complex human behavior or analyzing trends, it’s there to remind you: why pick one tool, when you can use them all?
